If you follow me on Instagram and Facebook, you may remember the post in September about the rugs? The post about the rugsa-fresh-perspective.weebly.com/blog/i-painted-my-living-room was before I decided to go ahead and paint my walls. To read THAT post, click on the picture below. Back to rugs. The 'option 1' rug was from rugs.ca and it was the only place I could find it at the time. From that website, they had the 7x10 for $269 or the 4x6 for $129. The 4x6 was really too small and wouldn't look right and the 7x10 was kinda big and too expensive for me. So, I just sat on it for awhile. In November, I obtained a trade account with Wayfair and found the same rug on there in different sizes and much more affordable prices. I was excited! I ordered the 5x8 that retails for $135. (It has since gone up in price so keep an eye out for sales. However, for the size, the new retail of $154 is still a good price!). Also in early November, I began seriously looking into new blinds for my living room windows. The white pvc mini blinds that had been there had lost their shape and were saggy. I knew I really wanted woven wood blinds but the regular places to shop for them, they were either non-customizable or way too expensive. I looked at all the cheapest customizable options available for my windows, regardless of style. Even Sears, the place I used to buy blinds from years ago, was no longer a good option. One either had to purchase set sizes or if you wanted a custom fit then you had to take what you got when it arrived because they said there was absolutely no returns on custom cuts regardless. And, there was no way to get samples to check colors or anything. That was not a risk I was willing to take even had it been a good inexpensive option, which it was not. My search led me to two websites with excellent money back guarantees as well as free samples to test colors in your home! Yes, thats right, free blind samples and you didn't even have to pay shipping! These two websites are www.blindsaver.ca and www.blindsgalore.ca I was happy to find a woven wood blind that was affordable and matched in my living room. I learned that they was going to have a big sale during Black Friday week so I waited for that sale before placing my order. For my two windows, each measuring 46.25" x 58.25", I was able to get my blinds delivered to my home for $250 all said and done. As you will see in the following pictures, the fit is PERFECT. I am happy with the purchase. One thing I will say about woven wood blinds is that they do the opposite of what you would expect blinds to do. You can see in at night but not out and you can see out in the day but not in. There is the option to have these comed lined for privacy, however, it would have nearly doubled the price of my order so that was not an option for me.
