If you follow me on Facebook, you know I started work at Kent Building Supplies in Moncton, NB, in November 2017. I started out full-time and thought I would be happy following that path . . . and leaving my blog as an occasional thing. I began to miss my projects BIG TIME. So. I am now working there three days per week, leaving me time to do projects again. Yay, me! :) At Kent, I work in the paint department helping customers with their colour selections and paint/stain needs. I enjoy that very much. I feel that I have a good balance going on now. Now that you are caught up on my most recent 'news', lets move on to my plans for 2018. I do have some business plans that I am working on to improve/revamp my current business so stay tuned for more on that in the near future. One of these plans involves doing videos so I am going to share with you here today, my first video! It is the raw first attempt version so you will definitely pick up on my nervousness, for sure. The video is a tour of my kitchen/dining room showing you what has been done and what I plan to do this year. I say in the video that the plate rails and hutch were done in early 2016, however, it was actually done in early 2017. I was so nervous I got the year wrong. LOL So to recap what is in the video: I plan to: * repaint the walls * repaint the upper cabinets * finish installing the new trim style around the rest of the doors and the baseboard * repaint the doors * fill nail holes, caulk, and paint the trim What is NOT mentioned in the video is my plan to paint the ceiling a dark coluor! I am strongly considering painting my ceiling a burnt orange/cognac colour. This colour is currently in the flooring and the countertops and I wanted a third way to bring in the colour. I had considered an accent wall but after doing some mock-ups on my laptop, I decided to go with the ceiling. I love how it comes alive in the photo! Hopefully, it does the same in real life! :) I also 'changed' the dinnerware in the photo as you can see. I have painted the walls and purchased new dinnerware. My next blog post will show you those details! Stay tuned! On to the rest of my 2018 plans. I plan to do more changes in my living room as well this year. I will be refinishing my piano, fireplace, and end tables. I also plan to get curtains for my windows as it still feels like its missing something. I plan to try to save my black leather chair that is peeling bad. I am even considering doing something to my mural wall. (Don't tell my husband!). Here is my living room currently. My plans for my bathroom this year are to build and add new wall decor.
I plan to do my bedroom this year, also. That includes selling my rolltop computer desk so I can rearrange the furniture. I will be painting the walls, getting new window coverings, painting the dresser, etc. I will also be doing more work at Mom's house. There are some little details to attend to in her bathroom before we can call that finished. Then, she wishes me to build her new end tables, but I hope to convince her to just let me refinish the ones she already has as they are very nice. I will also be refinishing her fireplace. That will finish up her living room. She plans to have me paint her kitchen cabinets and walls this year, also. In addition to my plans for my house and Mom's house, I hope to expand my business this year. 2018 should be an exciting year! If you haven't already 'liked' and 'followed' my Facebook page, please do. The link is provided at the top right of this screen. I would appreciate your feedback on my posts. Either here or on my Facebook posts. Thank you! :)

I love what you're doing in the house! I wonder though if the grey upper cabinets will be too much once you change the wall color? I have to say i really like them in a white, and think it shows off the trim and looks good with the grey bottoms. I cant wait to see how it turns out!
